Fuck Swine Flu

Stupid human hysteria and the fear mongering media has blown this shit up making it into something it isn’t even close to becoming. Thanks again media for all the wonderful things you do!

Countries killing off entire pig populations, closing ports, quarantining populations, implementing thermal scanners, banning pork products, canceling public gatherings and closing businesses. Really???!!! This is treatable! I’m okay with implementing a few border patrol cautions to keep the disease out and treat those who have been infected, but lets not take this too far. The virus is treated by two common and prevalent drugs with vaccines being made as we speak.

Its a virus, and like all viruses they learn to adapt to their environment to continue spreading. This isn’t anything new, it has been doing this for years and has been dormant for about 90 years.  Don’t forget, this is just a flu, albeit a new strain of it. Who dies from influenza? Old people and those who are ill or have severely weak immune and respiratory systems. Common seasonal influenza is so overwhelmingly more dangerous killing anywhere from 250,000 to 500,000 people worldwide a year. Here we are panicking about a couple hundred confirmed cases and a handful of deaths. Last time I checked, 90 years ago we were probably treating influenza by chopping off limbs. I think we have gone a long way in treating influenza and have no need to panic.

Sure its a virus and is able to spread to some far reaches of the world, but only because it was relatively unknown. Now that it is known and not really doing anything I think we can give it a rest.

Its a respiratory or airborne virus and indigestible so stop being afraid of eating pork products. Go ahead and fly down to Mexico, order that pork burrito and scarf it down in peace. Just don’t drink the water!

I think its funny how the real victims in all of this is pigs…filthy, disgustingly good tasting pigs…yum….bacon…nom nom nom
